A poster from Louisiana Museum of Modern Art with the artwork Jazz, Planche VIII, Icarus (1947), published in connection with Louisiana's 2005 exhibition on Matisse's later works – A New Life.
While Henri Matisse is best known for his paintings, he also worked in sculpture, graphic prints, and, in the last four years of his life, with paper cutouts and collages – including for his groundbreaking book Jazz from 1947, from which this motif is taken. Matisse is well-known at Louisiana, which first exhibited the French master in 1985.
