A poster from Louisiana Museum of Modern Art with the work, Bildnis der Journalistin Sylvia von Harden, (1926), by the German artist Otto Dix. The poster was published in 2022 in connection with Louisiana's exhibition about Germany in the 1920s, The Cold Eye.
In 1920s Germany, a "cold persona" appears in contemporary culture - so named by the German literary critic Helmut Lethen. Cold portraits, devoid of emotion, alone, with a distant gaze, as a mask for the real emotions.
