The lantern's rich brown tones come from the Shoulang yam, a plant traditionally used by Taiwanese aborigines for natural dyeing, which grows wild on the forest floors of northern Taiwan. The natural cotton fabric undergoes a meticulous hand-dyeing process—dipped over 20 times to achieve its deep, soothing colors. This careful process ensures a lasting, vibrant hue that reflects the rich heritage of Taiwan’s artisanal dyeing traditions.

Crafted with a durable Makino bamboo frame, sourced from the mountains of Taiwan, and accented with walnut, the lantern combines strength with elegance. Each piece is individually handcrafted, resulting in unique variations in shape and color, making every lantern one-of-a-kind.
