Project Ostrongården

At 35, Lotta Klemming has carved out a remarkable niche for herself as possibly the world’s only professional female oyster diver. Yet for Lotta, the distinction of being a woman in a male-dominated field is secondary to her deeper connection with the ocean. It is this profound passion for the sea and the art of diving that truly defines her journey and sets her apart.

In 2015, she founded Klemmings Ostron, supplying wild-caught oysters to top restaurants worldwide. Her passion for sustainability and the ocean shines through in both her harvesting techniques and her business practices.

Recently, Lotta expanded by opening "Ostrongården," an immersive oyster farm in Grebbestad. Visitors can spend a day at sea learning the art of oyster diving or stay overnight with meal packages that include private chef-prepared breakfasts or dinners. The retreat offers an intimate setting, perfect for small groups and corporate gatherings, where personalized hospitality takes center stage.

The true heart of Ostrongården, within Lotta’s private family home, is its kitchen, carefully designed by Artilleriet Kitchen Studio. This space reflects Lotta’s philosophy of craftsmanship and durability, and for her, it had to be more than just functional. It needed to embody the same values she holds dear in her work—quality, authenticity, and connection to nature. She chose a design made from genuine materials, primarily oak, which gives the kitchen timeless beauty and resilience. While the investment was significant, Lotta saw it as essential, ensuring that the kitchen would not only meet her family's daily needs but stand the test of time. She believes this kitchen will remain beautiful and relevant for the next 50 years, symbolizing her larger ethos: rooted in nature, built to last, and fostering a lasting connection with her surroundings.
