Introducing Gnilmyd Kcab

Ann-Sofie started exploring the home much in the same way she has always approached fashion: by asking questions rather than answering them. In the creative process, she addressed familiar themes like gender, glamour, perfection, and identity but now applies them to interior design. The result is a collection of playful and quirky objects.

Artilleriet proudly presents Gnilmyd Kcab's first collection of accessories for the home. Designed and produced in Stockholm.

"In my work as a fashion designer, I have explored themes and questions around identity, gender, clichés, and social constructs - what I call the trivia of civilization. Clothes are, in my mind, an intimate dialogue between myself, the wearer, and the collective mind. My designs shed light on the fashion system’s hierarchies and its parody of the female body. I always try to escape my visual boredom and let go of the production of mass individuality. I was curious how my thinking translated into interior design and see it as a natural progression of me as a fashion designer. I found it very inspiring to move away from the body and into the home." - Ann-Sofie Back

"The idea of conforming or blending in is so boring. During my years in marketing, I have always been curious about new ways of doing things and by thinking in new ways because the world becomes better the more diverse and surprising we make it. Design is communication and I love how things speak, so to me, the home should be an ongoing conversation and I want our objects to be part of it." - Mattias Dymling
