Welcome to explore some of our items curated in this context.

In 1931, an architectural competition was announced, and the assignment to design Gothenburg Concert hall was awarded to architect Nils Einar Eriksson. His idea was to design a concert hall for everyone. Even though he was trained in functionalism, he chose to give the building a more traditional classical facade among the other monumental houses in its vicinity. The heart of the building, the great hall, world famous for its acoustics, is magnificent and impressing but still warm an welcoming.

Today Konserthuset is a true vivid concert hall, classic concerts are mixed with modern pop, and other music events.
