      • GUBI presents Pierre Paulin’s F300 Chair and companion T877 Table
      May 14, 2025

GUBI presents Pierre Paulin’s F300 Chair and companion T877 Table

1960s sculptural seating sensation makes its long-awaited comeback.

When it first appeared in the late ’60s, Pierre Paulin’s F300 Lounge Chair caused quite a stir. Unlike anything ever seen before, with its fluid curves and novel materiality, it looked like a chair that had somehow been beamed in from the future. Visibly playful and enticingly comfortable, the F300 became an instant icon, prized for its statement looks and tremendous versatility, and earning a place in the MoMA’s permanent collection. Perfectly aligned to the casual, comfort-led, low-slung lounge aesthetics of the 1970s, the F300 also embodied a timeless futurism that has ensured it has never fallen from favor as time has passed.

‘After GUBI’s successful reissue of the Pacha, it is wonderful to see another of Pierre Paulin’s most cherished designs return to production. The F300 perfectly embodies my father’s approach to design and the balance between sculpture, elegance, and comfort he sought in his work.’

      – Benjamin Paulin, son of Pierre Paulin

The F300 chair combines bold design with everyday functionality. Its sculptural, fluid form is shaped by its unique material composition, offering a striking presence without compromising comfort or practicality. Paired with the matching T877 side table, it makes a confident, contemporary statement in any space.

The F300 and T877 were originally crafted in fiberglass or polyurethane for comfort and lightness. Today, they're responsibly reimagined in Italy using HiREK®—a durable, lightweight polymer made from industrial plastic waste. UV- and weather-resistant, HiREK offers a sleek, high-gloss finish without extra processing, staying true to Paulin’s signature organic shapes and bold silhouettes.
