Located by the salt marshes of West Zealand, Bjarke Ingels' holiday home, aptly named Fjordglimt, captures the essence of quiet luxury.
It's a home that combines modern design with nostalgic charm, located on the border between land and water. Here, the sun casts its golden rays over the marsh at dawn, the light seeping through mist and reeds - a daily ritual as breathtaking as the house itself.
While Ingels is known for his visionary work, Fjordglimt reveals a more intimate side—a retreat where design meets warmth and simplicity. The cabin offers comforting energy, shaped by intention and detail, from painted vintage outlets to built-in sofas and a thoughtfully placed work desk.
A palette of deep greens, muted reds, and soft brass gives the home a timeless, tactile feel. In the kitchen—the heart of the house—craftsmanship and design meet in the DÉCA tap, an early collaboration between Ingels and TONI Copenhagen. Its patinated brass finish complements the nostalgic mood, surrounded by vintage dish racks and curated charm.
In the bathrooms, deep green tiles and brass fixtures create a modern yet timeless feel. Clean lines and thoughtful details echo the home’s spirit—where every element serves a purpose and offers beauty. Exposed beams and panelled walls add contrast and natural warmth.
