Apparatus is a New York-based design studio that explores the relationship of lighting, furniture and objects in their environments. Predicated on the modernist principle of Gesamtkunstwerk, or total work of art, the collections reveal individual pieces as artefacts of a holistic world. Each object is made with devoted, small-scale craftsmanship where the making of the hand contributes to the soul of the object/lamp.
