Description
A poster from Louisiana Museum of Modern Art featuring Encuentro (1959) by the surrealist Spanish-Mexican artist Remedios Varo. Her paintings blend fantasy and reality in enigmatic, cinematic compositions populated by hybrid creatures and dreamlike settings. Combining surrealist techniques with a precise approach and distinctive palette, her work also draws inspiration from Italian painting of the Late Middle Ages and Early Renaissance.
