Gabriele Münter - Stilleben Mit Rotem Besteck

A poster from Louisiana Museum of Modern Art with the artwork Stilleben mit rotem Besteck (Still Life with Red Cutlery, 1930) by German artist Gabriele Münter (1877–1962). The poster was published in connection with Louisiana’s 2018 exhibition on Münter, one of the most important German Impressionists.

Before Gabriele Münter began painting, she had already started experimenting with photography around 1900—first during a trip to the United States. With a camera in hand, she began capturing and preserving the “world,” but soon she started painting almost daily and continued to do so throughout her life.
